One of Fordham University’s most hallowed traditions is Fordham students’ performative trashing of this very institution. We’ve all done it in some form or another, some people more than others. And, to be fair, the Jesuit University of New York© provides lots of ammunition for its students, who can often be quite creative about their critiques, due to those fine Jesuit values imparted by the Core Curriculum.
At the time of this writing, Apr. 14, 2019, Sean Kingston is scheduled to perform as Fordham University’s Spring Weekend Headliner. However, allegations that have recently come to light have cast doubt on the performance.
On Jan. 15, 2019, Rev. John J. Cecero, S.J., provincial of the USA Northeast Jesuit Province, released the names of 50 Jesuits, including a former Jesuit, accused of sexual abuse. At the time of the list’s publication, 35 of the 50 Jesuits named were deceased.

At one of their weekly meetings, the College Democrats executive board announced that they had selected David Axelrod as their speaker for the Spring semester. The former Obama advisor will speak at Keating Hall’s 3rd-floor auditorium on Monday, April 9th from 8 to 9pm, taking place after Spring Break and before finals start.
On Tuesday night, I and my co-editor Andrew, went to check out the College Republicans’ guest speaker over in the Walsh Library auditorium. It wasn’t a huge crowd, but the first two rows of the middle were for the most apart filled with what I could only assume were the College Republicans.
The fire is the deadliest one to affect NYC since the 1990s.
