“Album of the year contender every year,” Pusha T boasted back in 2016 on a single that was originally intended for his third album. However, since his first solo album My Name is My Name in 2013, Pusha has only released three albums in six years and the last one, King Push—Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude, came out in 2015.
I am not a Drake fan– all of his music sounds the same to me, and that is exactly how I feel about his new EP, Scary Hours. The two songs released, “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity” are essentially little diary pieces from Drake, which is cool and all, but all of his music just kind of sounds like “Hotline Bling” to me.
Drake’s new album is so great because it doesn’t know what the hell it wants to be.
