This Week at Fordham

With shitty midterms winding down and bitter Winter on the horizon, this has the potential to be a big week at Fordham. With bookends like FREE scotch on Monday and Homecoming this weekend, this week both could and should be a doozy.

Event: Drambuie Den (21+)
Take the 6 train (transfer from the 4 at Union Square) to Spring St and head to Katra Lounge for some FREE Drambuie Scotch from 6:30-9:30 PM!!! All you have to do to get three hours of free honey and herb accented scotch, is RSVP here. We here at the internet understand that this is short notice, but for those of you who need the booze but don;t have the time on monday, the same deal is going down tomorrow night as well. Cheers.

The Homosexuals Live and FREE
CMJ is a great time to be in New York if you like free shows and corporate sponsored open bars. The grand tradition of CMJ free goodness continues as legendary post-punk fuck ups The Homosexuals are set to sonically reduce Pianos this Tuesday… for FREE. Take the D to the F and get off at Delancey/Essex stop and head to Pianos. Doors at 8.

*Also, Vivian Girls and Cheeseburger will be playing Red Bull Space for FREE at 8 tomorrow.

If that doesn’t appeal to you, come to the fucking paper meeting … assholes.

More stuff to do after the jump!

A showing of Max Ophüls’ Lola Montes and FREE Sparks!!!
Okay, so VICE magazine is giving away free Sparks from midnight til gone at Midnight with an RSVP at Webster Hall(take the 4 to Union Sq.). BUT! Before that, there’s a real
cultural event happening in the city taking place at the Film Forum, you lousy drunks. German director Max Ophüls’ long lost 1955 opus, Lola Montes, is being screened in a new meticulously restored version at 7:45 PM (and again at 10 PM) at the Film Forum (take the D to West 4th).

Get out yr skinny jeans and child molester glasses!!!

VICE Magazine is still knocking it out of the park in terms of late night awesomeness for CMJ. It’s a midnight open bar Sparks from midnight ’til gone, but this time around, the Velvety/Modern Lovers-y garage rock band The Japanese Motors for a live set. It’s at Webster Hall (take the 4 to Union Sq.) again, and you need to RSVP.

It’s homecoming weekend. Get fucked up around here for Chrissakes.

  1. you forgot the President’s Ball, and I know all that formality and shit doesn’t meet your liberal hipster agenda, but my desperation has reached a breaking point, and I am considering a full out drunken assault upon Fr. McShane. it should be quite a show, quite a show indeed.
